== Previous TURP == * Normal anatomy of the bladder neck may frequently be quite distorted. * Distortion makes it more of a problem to assess where the prostate ends. In addition, the bladder neck opening is significantly bigger and will usually need surgical reconstruction. We recommend plication of the bladder neck at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. We recommend against a 6 o’clock position as this posterior position has the greatest amount of tension and the crossing of two suture lines increases the risk of distraction and urinary leakage.
